Simple Day Trading Market Cycle Drills #1: Lightning Bolt
  1. Intro
  2. Goal
  3. Drill Instructions
  4. Conclusion

Intro

  • This is part of a series on learning the MARKET CYCLE. Many traders contacted me asking for ways to improve this part of their price action reading.
  • How rare is a move in one direction in a straight line? Very.
  • So being aware of that we can learn to stay in longer to our trades. Waiting for a second reversal bar to exit.
  • We can also wait for a previous move to finish before attempting to enter. This patience will improve our probability.

Goal

  • This drill will help you enter for the second piece of every move.
  • This drill will help you to practice active-patience when selecting entries

Drill Instructions

  • Draw lightning bolts – 2 colours – one for up, one for down
  • Lightning bolt fractal – split your lightning bolts into smaller ones
  • Lightning bolt fractal – combine your lightning bolts into larger ones

Conclusion

  • The market moves in a wave, but as newer traders we trade in straight lines.
  • Learn to flow with the market.
